Yesterday, I went through a bunch of my feeds and saw Matt Cutts announce a new toy from Google, Google Moderator.

The idea behind Google Moderator is that questions are asked to a group of participants and these people can vote upon the question. Sounds like a social site to me.

Barry suggests over at Search Engine Land that this is a bit like Yahoo Suggestions, and he may be right. But Barry also mentions that Yahoo Suggestions is specific to Yahoo feedback, and users can go crazy with Google Moderator — it’s not limited to anything.

Pretty cool tool. Check it out.

Politics aside, this is yet another example of the biggest problem with Wikipedia. Pro: Anyone can add, edit, and remove content on any given subject. • MapQuest can has local content? Mapping website MapQuest recently launched MapQuest Local, which is a customizable local start page that contains news, events, gas prices, business listings, weather updates, and other nifty features.

• The long-awaited Spore game has finally been released. It’s a "game about evolution, but evolution that’s intelligently designed by the choices you make." Meh, the only upcoming release that I’m remotely excited about is Rock Band 2. Holy crap, I’m so excited.

I few posts back I mentioned that Amazon’s Mechanical Turk would be good for some SEO processes. It looks like people are already using it to spam social media. As sock puppets rise up many of the broad/general social media sites will get polluted by increasing amounts of spam.
